Dark Milk + Black Licorice CollaBARation™ Bar

It's rare for me to try a chocolate and view any one ingredient running rough-shod over the cocoa, but with this bar from Askinosie that's exactly what happens here. The chocolate base could be any cocoa level and you wouldn't really notice. As it is the 62% bar the level of cocoa butter and goat's milk powder seem a perfect carrier for the root. And that wouldn't be an incorrect assessment of this chocolate.
Salt and dark milk works very well and here the licorice plays that sharp, aggressive role to a T - but with so much more of a rounded character. There is some sea salt present which plays beneath the licorice and isn't predominant, not least in the early stages of the melt, but it does peek through towards the finish and linger on the tip of the tongue.
I can't recall a more addictive bar of chocolate than this in my life. And it just proves to me that we should stock Akinosie as soon a possible!
