Amano are an American bean to bar chocolate maker who, as a result of their staggering successes of recent years are now much larger than many of the craft chocolate makers we stock that also produce their chocolate in the USA. They have won more awards than I have had hot dinners - and it’s understandable why. Art, and his team, make exceptionally good chocolate and manage, somehow, to extract flavours from the bean that seemingly other chocolate makers are just unable to release. Not only does their chocolate taste fantastic but they're presented in the most wonderful of packages and have a finish that most chocolate makers would envy.
Much of their chocolate is made from Venezuelan cocoa beans from a variety of highly-respected estates, although they have branched out to the Dominican Republic and Madagascar too. If you wanted to try award winning chocolate and have an open mind then Amano is certainly a great place to start.
