We believe directly traded chocolate is the pinnacle of ethical chocolate. It may not intrinsically offer a greater taste-sensation or even texture, but in terms of morality it surpasses all others. Within this collection we also include small-scale grower-made chocolate but not larger chocolate makers which have subsequently purchased plantations, farms and estates. Hence, the classification may be arbitrary, but the aim is to collate the chocolate made by small-scale, occasionally co-operative run, farms which produce chocolate from the fruits of the land.
