The aroma here is almost that of a milk chocolate, even the flavour has a rich, vanilla creaminess which belies the style of Amano. It is just so difficult to characterise this chocolate. It's certainly left-field. It almost tastes as sweet as a 55% dark milk - but without that buttery flavour. It's like, I suppose, walking into a garden centre awash with hyacinths and a shop in the background making Victoria sponges and cream teas.

Notes | Where the mountains meet the sea on the “toe” of Italy, orchards of the exotic Bergamot orange sway in rows to peaceful ocean breezes. Amano has discovered a bean during their travels in the Dominican Republic that naturally tastes like bergamot, cinnamon, and clove. Unique in all the world, this chocolate will amaze, astound, and fill your senses with the passion of chocolate, bergamot, and spice. |
