Amedei has managed to get hold of rare Jamaican cocoa to craft this dark chocolate.
The fragrant but delicate bar should be enjoyed slowly and with care. Allow a generous, creamy piece to melt on your tongue. As it dissolves, discover the subtle and creamy characteristics of the Jamaican bean.
The chocolate is smooth but also slightly soft which gives a gently fudgy mouthfeel. The sweetness continues into light caramel and honey. We noted the faintest haze of warming gingerbread spice, which blends into sandalwood. A rich double cream finish completes the chocolate.
Amedei’s ‘Cru’ range, just like a fine wine, use high quality cacao from single origins and select plantations around the world. With this range, Amedei wants to capture the wild expression of the cocoa bean. Jamaica is still a highly unusual origin, that only a handful of craft makers are using. Amedei’s bar is a spectacular example of what this origin can offer. The Italian maker uses an exclusive crop of high quality trinitario beans.
