Whose parents didn't force us to eat oily fish as a child under the guise that it was "good for you"? If you have children and would like to get them an unusual chocolate stocking filler that is likely to cause a stir then we feel that these gourmet chocolate sardines just have to be the thing to get this Christmas.
Here the absolutely sensational French chocolate maker Michel Cluizel has produced some chocolate sardines made with fantastic 35% milk chocolate and wrapped in lifelike foil wrapping. You'll get five sardines in a sturdy tin that has the foil rolled back as if it was being open by and old-style tin opener. Don't worry about there being sharp edges, however, as there aren't any.
These chocolate sardines, or sardina pilchardus as they're called in botanic circles, are more of a whimsical chocolate gift for children and adults alike, but that doesn't mean that they're made from anything but fine chocolate as they are. In fact Michel Cluizel is responsible for some of the finest chocolate on the planet - in my honest opinion.
