Fjak crafts its small batch chocolate in the depths of Hardangerfjord in Norway. Making chocolate since 2015, it was only late 2017 that Agur and Siv officially launched Fjak. Those two years acted as the experimental stage, where Agur and Siv endeavoured on the pursuit of crafting great chocolate – from ethics to flavour – with the vision of making production scalable from the get go.
At the 2018 Academy of Chocolate awards, Fjak made a powerful first impression, winning Best Newcomer amongst other Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.
Fjak have sourced the beans for this bar from GoGround Cocoa – a supplier of Indian cacao. GoGround Cocoa work directly with the farmers, ensuring quality harvesting and post-harvest practices, but foremost they encourage the growing of fine-flavour cacao in India.
India is a country that rarely comes to mind when one thinks of chocolate. Many are surprised when discovering India’s ability to actually grow cacao, whilst the country’s very low consumption per capita of chocolate comes to less of a surprise.
With this bar, enjoy the the flavours of toasted tea cake and malt. It is an intensely raisin and sultana-laden flavour, with an ultra creamy and smooth melt. This 68% is an outstanding example of Indian cacao.
