In a rather dry area lies the small cocoa village of Las Trincheras (Venezuela) in a steep valley, on the slopes of which this great cocoa grows under shade trees. The valley has its own microclimate, which offers perfect tropical weather conditions with copious warm rain for noble cocoa.
“Idilio” stands for the connection with nature, the diversity of a mixed culture of tropical plants and fruits, the devoted care and harvest of the finest cocoa beans, their careful fermentation and sultry drying by the small farms. These makers have picked up many awards on the way whilst making delicious chocolate from 2011 to 2015.
This bar achieved a Bronze at the Academy of Chocolate Awards 2017.
