Description
For this single origin milk bar, Phil at Land has used Chuno beans from Nicaragua. Crafting his chocolate in London’s very own Bethnal Green, Nicaraguan cacao plays a central role in Land’s first chocolate collection.
Chuno is a Trinitario hybrid and it is said to be an ancestor of Venezuela’s Criollo trees. However, it is typically found in the northern highlands of Nicaragua.
We found this to be a delectably chocolatey and creamy bar – just what you want out of a milk chocolate but just wait for the added layers to kick in. The malted, creamy notes underpin this bar but as the chocolate melts, the bar develops a subtle fruity acidity before rounding off with a nutty profile. If you’re looking for a more complex milk chocolate, then this is one for you!
This bar achieved a Bronze at the Academy of Chocolate Awards 2017.
