This is the first chocolate bar ever made from Maui cacao that we know of. Madre have worked closely with the farmers Francine and Bob Frost over the last 6 months to perfect the ferment on their first harvest of cacao ever, and has resulted in an awesome chocolate .
The cacao and chocolate is more even handed than most Hawaiian cacao, with a mellow start, mid tangy notes, butterscotch & caramel finish with the acidic fruit flavours returning at the very end. We can’t wait to see what else the Frosts produce with their impeccable attention to detail.
The production of cocoa from the farm is very much limited and as a result there's not only a very restricted supply of this chocolate in Hawai'i but also in the UK as currently you can only purchase this chocolate here - whilst stocks last.
