Manufaktura Czekolady are Poland’s first (and to date only) single origin, artisan chocolate maker. Through their range of single origin bars, founders Christopher Stypułkowski and Thomas Sienkiewicz tell a chocolate story about the flavours of different regions and about how chocolate is made. Their bars are produced by hand in Poland, in a traditional way you might have seen 150 years ago.
A most unusual dark milk chocolate, this bar has none of the sweetness you might expect of a milk chocolate. Instead, it gets a rich creaminess from the inclusion of a good amount of vanilla. Initially, you’re met with strong, earthy almost roasted notes that are the hallmark of Ecuadorian chocolate. These rapidly give way to an altogether mellower experience. For some in the team, the vanilla was overpowering. It certainly dominates the finish of this slightly grainy bar.
