For those of you who adore dark chocolate from Venezuela we have this Pralus creation from Papua New Guinea. There are two reasons this is the case: firstly much of the cacao root stock from PNG actually originated from Venezuela, but also secondly because this chocolate offers flavours in a sublime fashion as we would expect from Venezuela.
There are no powerful aromas as you might get from Madagascar instead this chocolate is more subtle and tantalising. There are certainly some red fruit tones but they're accompanied by soft and elegant floral characteristics which lift the chocolate and wisp you away in another direction in a gentle breeze - sometimes in opposite directions.
This is one of Pralus' more curious bars.
