During your busy working day you may a 'pick-me-up' but feel even very dark chocolate might just have a touch too much sugar, or you might just feel that chocolate has a guilty connotation and make you fall off the diet wagon. Or you just might enjoy cocoa nibs - as we do. We've had these open on our desk for a few hours now and nibbling on these has greatly cut down on our own chocolate intake and, perhaps has even made us feel more alert (the spell-checker will be testament to that!)
There has been much said about the possible health benefits of consuming cocoa nibs, EU law prevents us from making any claims, but it is true that nibs do contain a wide variety of minerals and acids.
Each pouch contains 120g of cocoa nibs which could well last you a few weeks. If you wanted to keep them in your draw at work to bring out in the late afternoon, then you might like to know they're resealable to keep them fresh.
When it comes to the flavour we absolutely love the tangy orange-rind nature of these nibs. Often when nibs are produced they have a mellow, caramel, like style, but these are sharper than most and we absolutely love them for it.
NB: The Best Before Date
|Tasting Notes||'Cocoa nibs are one of the best dietary sources of magnesium as well as a good source of calcium, iron, copper, zinc and potassium. They contain high levels of antioxidants. Crunchy in texture, Wilkie's organic cocoa nibs are a great snack. Flavour without sweetness. [They] can be added to cakes, biscuits, smoothies ore even put on a salad and make a great substitute for chocolate chips.|
